Feeling Stuck? How to Restart Your Health Routine (Plus 5 Home Workouts)

Everyone hits a wall. The scale stops moving, motivation fades, and the plan you were excited about a month ago feels like a chore. Feeling stuck doesn't mean you failed. It usually means it's time to simplify.

Step 1: Shrink the goal

Big goals are great for direction, but they're hard to act on every day. Pick one small thing you can do this week, like a 15-minute walk after dinner, drinking a glass of water before each meal, or going to bed 30 minutes earlier. Small wins build momentum.

Step 2: Track something simple

You can't change what you don't notice. For one week, write down what you eat or how much you move. No judgment, just data. Our free calorie and food tracker makes this easy.

Step 3: Set a routine, not a mood

Motivation comes and goes. A routine shows up anyway. Pick the same time each day for movement, even if it's only 10 minutes, and protect it like an appointment.

A 20-minute home workout (no equipment)

Do each move for 40 seconds, rest 20 seconds, and repeat the circuit 3 to 4 times. Go at your own pace.

  1. Bodyweight squats: sit back like you're lowering into a chair, then stand.
  2. Wall or knee push-ups: build upper-body strength at whatever level fits you.
  3. Glute bridges: lie on your back, knees bent, and lift your hips.
  4. Marching in place or step-ups on a low stair: get your heart rate up.
  5. Forearm plank: hold a straight line from shoulders to heels (knees down is fine).

Where GLP-1 support can fit in

For some people, routine alone isn't enough. That's where a medical weight-loss program may help. GLP-1 medications work with your body's appetite signals, which some people find makes it easier to stick with healthier eating. But medication works best as a partner to your habits, not a replacement for them. The first step is still the routine you build.

If you're curious whether a GLP-1 program could be right for you, PepStep Guide connects you with licensed clinicians through our partner OpenLoop. Your clinician decides whether treatment is appropriate. Not everyone qualifies, and results vary.
